BIO

Felice fell in love with color and representation as a high school student in the woods of British Columbia. After high school, she spent a brief stint in Texas before returning to Canada to attain a bachelors of fine art from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in August of 2000.
While in college, Felice took part in shows from Nova Scotia, to Ontario. Along with two other women, she started and ran the NSCAD Student Art Store, a venue for students to sell their work during Halifax’s bustling tourist season. She ended her time in Canada with a solo show entitled “PUTTING IT ON…and taking it off”. In this show she used painting, printmaking and installation to exaggerate classical ideas of femininity to the point of comedy. Each piece provided an in-depth look at the way that society molds females’ expectations of themselves. “PUTTING IT ON… and taking it off” was the embodiment of a budding artistic vision for Felice, combining her favorite medium—the portrait—and her favorite subjects—the exploration of group dynamics and women’s issues.
After graduating from NSCAD, Felice’s travels took her to New York, where she worked for a small documentary video company. Working with video sparked her interest in digital media and inspired her to pursue a masters at Texas A&M’s Visualization program beginning in the fall of 2001. There, she was able to utilize her visual skills in new ways to produce video shorts, websites and digital prints while still maintaining a painting studio.
In March of 2002, while at Texas A&M Felice coordinated and curated a flat work exhibition of time-based animation and video pieces at the University of Houston’s Archive Gallery. She also contributed nine paintings to a group show at the Idea Gallery in Austin and was juried into the Assistance League show in Houston’s Williams Tower Gallery. Felice’s work has also been shown in VIZA-GOGO, a multi media art exhibition at Texas A&M’s Rudder Theater gallery, and in two rotating exhibits in the Texas A&M’s College of Architecture.
Though she has been working with a variety of different media, Felice’s true passion remains painting and her subject matter has been and will continue to focus on people and their relationships.
